Tickets were sold out in less than a minute. How did you guys fare?

I didn't get any even though it wasn't even 10:01 yet...

Update: Word is that they only had 2,000 tickets... via TideFans.

Of course by the time I gave it the right info the tickets were gone.

I talked to someone at Ticketmaster yesterday and she said it was not true that they sold tickets on accident. She said the presale was 10% of their allotment.

My story went as such...clicked refresh @ 9:59:58...site didn't even load the first page until after 10:03...fuck

Same here. I tried calling in since I had to buy Alamo bowl tickets as well, but they said I would have to hang up and call back in. Well, I call back in at 9:30, and all lines were busy from then until 10am.

It wasn't a "presale," it was a quasi-mistaken release of the tickets a week early. Dec 8th was the original on-sale date, and then they changed it to Dec. 15th, but apparently someone at TM didn't get the memo.

I got one after being denied requesting two. I also got a lot of hangups and even the error code mentioned above using IE. I had better luck with Firefox (was trying from two different browsers).

I'm stunned I got through, but thrilled.

Ticket is front row of the endzone, but I'll happily take it. Hopefully I will have a nice view of the pom squad for 1/2 the game.

Congrats to those that got through. You must've have been holding your tongue just right or something. I refreshed my browser at 1 min till, and it took until 10:05 to finally come up. Too late by far.

I just tried the "vision impaired" button in the captcha screen to see if that was any easier. Wow, that's even worse. They play an audio file with different people saying a numeric digit - 8 digits you have to type in. But in the background are lots of people talking and other noises.

I read this on another site:

"Do not use your browsers Refresh button, at all, on Ticketmaster.com. Ticketmaster uses cookies, your IP address and who-knows-what-else to track exactly what you’re doing. Going to the event page a minute before tickets go on sale and hitting refresh will almost certainly guarantee that you do not get tickets. Instead, enter "2010 Citi BCS" in the search field, and as soon as your computers clock changes to the onsale time, click Search".

every site in the world uses cookies and your ip address. unless they specifically coded a refresh-deterrence option in there nothing would happen, which would be really dumb to do imo.

I got 2 total this morning. Used the interwebs and 2 firefox tabs. I only asked for 1 each time and yes the verification phrases were f-ed up. One I saw was something like 38 7/8...I thought I was going to have to convert fractions or some shit to get through.

I too will be on the front row of the endzone, the other ticket it about 17 rows up from that. Both right next to the Bama side of the house.

I also was calling but only received busy signals...i got the first ticket around 10:06 and the second at 10:19. I created a ticketmaster account when i got in this morning and that no doubt sped the transaction along.

It was funny... pulled a Colt on the second ticket...I put in the verification phase and clicked back to the tab I had the shaggy thread up about tickets and was reading through it. I just happened to click back and...oh crap...I received one more ticket but only had a minute to complete the transaction...that was close.
