    Blur will play two new songs on Monday, July 2 during a live performance to be streamed on Twitter.

    The reactivated Britpop legends will play “The Puritan” and “Under the Westway.” The tracks were written for their August 12 show at Hyde Park in London. The concert, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the London Olympics, will also feature New Order and The Specials.

    To tune in to next week’s performance, visit Twitter.com/blurofficial at 6:15 p.m. London time on Monday, July 2. The band will perform one of the two songs, with an interview taking place immediately afterwards. The second track will be played at 7:15, and then both will be made available for download. Fans who would like a physical copy of the songs can pick up a limited edition double A-side 7-inch single via Parlophone from August 6.

    In the USA, Damon Albarn is the most underrated artist in the world. That guy is a $#@!in genius and not many even know his name. For some odd reason Thom Yorke is seen as the ultimate British artist while Damon Albarn is long forgotten.

    eh, he's pretty well known by music fans. He's not as widely known as Thom Yorke but he is indeed respected in the US.

    I agree that he is a genius and has played a major role in some terrific bands.

    Wow, I'm sure many of you will be blown away by Kaiser Chiefs posing as the beatles, but that in no way lived up to any reasonable expectation. some of us actually care about the Who and are left wondering if making John Lennon's face out of pillows suffices as a musical tribute from the island that literally changed the face of modern culture. WTF. I'm sure some of those modern bands were enough for you kids, but that sucked all kinds of eggs for some of us despite 3-dimensionally gay Freddie Mercury. Who I named my muthafuckin' radio show after!

    NBC, perhaps as the cherry on top of their stupid mother$#@! delivery of this entire asshatted Olympics, pushed The Who to an entirely separate nightcap broadcast after the local news that I just happened to catch at 11pm. Who in their right $#@!ing mind decided that? Such an entire fail, they deserve to lose all rights to any future games.
